On the Cheap - VoIP Phone Service
As always, I am looking for inexpensive alternatives for services. I just came across a new gadget that provides phone service for an EXTREMELY low cost. Magic Jack provides VoIP through the USB port in your computer. It requires high speed internet, just like all VoIP, but it is significantly cheaper. Rather than paying ~$25 per month for Vonage, Magic Jack costs only $20 for an entire year. The service provides unlimited local and long distance service throughout the United States and Canada.
The only feature I seek that it lacks is the ability to port your number to the service. In their FAQ, it says that they will be offering this for a small fee in the future.
Got anything else to share that you use to save big (or small) bucks? Leave it in the comments.
